Put 285's On The Truck...what To Set Psi?

Well I finally got the 285's for my truck. I ended up with the nitto terra grapplers. Now when I got my truck the tires were set at 35 PSI. I've been told by a couple of buddies that I should set them around 45-50. I have the E load tires. I would put pics up but some 18 y/o decided to go under my truck with her "graduation gift" ford focus so it's banged up in the front Thanks in advance for the replies

I have mine at 45

On my Sierra I ran 45 front and 40 rear.

35-40 is all you need.

I run 40 all around on my current load range d tires. Never had any issues.

I just replaced my Michelin AT2s in load range D. I had them at 42psi since the day I got 'em and got 70k out of them. I could have gone another 5k, but I really wanted the BFG AT KOs.

I run 35-40 psi in 285 E range.

I have BFG 385's I run the factory settings at around front @ 37 rear @ 35. If I go much higher I get wheel hop at speed.

I run 42-44 in my E rated coopers at3. Pretty comfortable ride all around for an E rated tire.

I run 45 psi on all 4 never any issues tires still look great.

It would help to know your model of truck and if gas or diesel. I had those tires in 285-70-17E on a 2008 GMC 2500 Sierra Duramax and they only lasted about 25K to the wear markers and I pulled them at 30K. The diesel truck is very heavy on the front axle and lowering the tire pressure too much will cause

sidewall flex in turns and heavy breaking. My tires were rotated every 5K by America Tire and I esentially hauled nothing.I ran my diesel truck at 60LBS all four.
