Frame Stickers, Etcetera

Please forgive my ignorance, as I am new to a lot of this.

I have begun removing various stickers from my new truck, such as those left on the shocks, the TPMS, and the frame. Do any of these serve any purpose that I am unaware of, or are they simply eyesores? The sticker from the frame, for example, has various information on it: Part No., Frame Code, Caster/Camber Code, Serial No. Do I need any of this for future reference? Probably a stupid question, I know, but I'd hate to toss something out and then need it later. I still have that little tag with the airbag warning that was hanging from the glove box. Call me sentimental--or maybe just mental. Whatever floats your boat. Also, has anyone removed the airbag warning stickers from the visors? Is it even possible without damaging the visor material? Maybe even a violation of some BS federal law to do so, no?

Thanks for your time and any replies.

No,You don't have to keep them, you can certainly remove whatever decals you want,I wouldn't remove the emissions or any information decals under the hood or on the door jamb though, but you could if you want.

All the information needed to order anything (shocks, frame, etc.) is available by giving your VIN to the dealer.

The airbag labels on the visors have been removed by some members here, however they can be difficult to remove without damaging the visor material.

Thanks, Rich. I know I need to keep those decals under the hood and inside the door jamb. It was mainly the huge white ones on the frame. Wifey was trying to make me get steps or skirts just to cover those up. I showed her that my old truck looks the same, sans stickers, but you know... She's happy now. But WTH is the tarlike junk on there? Fingers still black from that. And don't say it's tar. Unless it really is tar, I guess.

Its a wax coating,It is available in aerosol cans. It is called Nox-Rust X-121B, made by Daubert Chemical Co.. Do a search and you can find a distributor.

Heres a link to their website...Daubert Chemical

Heres a tech sheet on the X-121B....X-121B

You can also get some at your local GM dealer,if you wait until tomorrow I can post the part number for it.

Yep thats it,although when you punch in the number on some sites it comes up as "LUBRICANT",but its not,it list for $12.14 for an 11oz. can.

I hadn't even thought about re-coating the frame where the stickers took the wax off until now. Probably a good idea though--especially since it's this cheap and easy. Much appreciated.

I posted this in another thread before, but through an "accident" I learned that baby oil will clean this stuff off your hands like a charm. Just a cleanup tip.

I used black 1 ½ trim tape to cover over the bright yellow airbag stickers on my visor. easily removable for viewing for the next owner.

I accidently blew the door jamb sticker off with a pressure washer. Seems those sticker are needed for export, out of country. Who knew?
