Need To Find Alternative Reverse Signal From Trailer Harness

Recommended Posts

Recently my TBC2 fuse seems to blow when I shift to reverse. Taking out the reverse bulbs didn't stop the fuse blowing. While I figure out whats causing the problem I need to find an alternate reverse signal lead for my reverse camera. Does anyone know where the reverse signal lead is within the cab? I know it's a light green lead from the rear trailer harness but would like to find it in the MBEC or other inside location.

Thanks

Don't know if this will help, but this site has a lot of manuals (free D/L's) that have a lot of info wiring schematics and body/chassis manuals.

Look under "Bodybuilder Manuals"

Thanks for the info. I was on that site for most of the night and downloaded everything else for my year excluding that one last bit. Seems there is one additional manual somewhere.

sounds more like you need to find that short that is burning up the fuse, I would start with disconnecting the aftermarket reverse camera.....

Agree with Nick. Get the camera out of the picture first. I don't believe ANY of the wires "IN" the trailer harness are designated for REVERSE.

The 7 wire trailer harness has a wire for the backup lights, which come on when the shift selector is put in reverse.
