I thought all the 3500's came with dual battery setups? Mine has the Duramax but it has dual batteries, so maybe it's an option if you have the 6.0? There's a few articles on here where guys added a second battery and it was pretty reasonable and not too hard of a setup. Try a search or hopefully someone on here will be able to give you the link. Congrats on the new truck, post some pictures.

This is from my build sheet "IUV-. H,D, DUAL 730 CCA BATTERY"

i just put a second battery in my 2500hd 6.0L. i hooked the positive to the jump start post on the drivers side of the engine. and i just grounded it on the firewall next to it. have to either make a tray or buy the factory one tho. its great tho cannot kill the batteries, had 3 amps and an inverter running for hours and they would not die. i think that there is some sort of a switch tho that is associated with it to avoid blowing your starter up, im sure someone with more info will jump in

just buy the gm tray on the rear passenger side[$35], then buy the factory poss cable[about $75.00],go to an auto parts store and buy the neg cable[$20]

You will want the isolator as well. Simply running two batteries like you are boosting is not the more ideal setup.

If he is looking for more capacity for plowing then he does not want the isolator. Battery tray and cables is all that is needed. You will want to ground the battery to the block and run the positive cable to the starter. You good source for cables is Genuinedealz.com While the section of the site for custom cable assemblies refers to them as "inverter cables" they can make you anything you need.
