Charge dealer for advertising?

Just pulled the dealer logo off of my tailgate and was wondering if I could submit a bill to the dealership for all the free advertising he got off of me.

I think I'll be giving that a whirl next time around.  I do use their free plate frames though...so I think with those, I don't need the darn logo on the gate.

My dad confronted a dealer in '78 when he bought a Caprice.  He told the dealer to take another $50 off the deal if he was going to put a sticker on the back of his car...  The dealer knocked $50 off the deal!!!

Be glad it's a decal and can be peeled off.  My 69 Chevelle had a metal "dealer ad" that was attached with sheet metal screws.  Removing it called for paint and body work.

I told the guy that unless they took their company logo of the back of the HD I'm not interested in buying it anymore.. they took it of and washed it no probs it was funny...they were like that is the company's rule and when the deal was about to fall threw they were more than happy to break the company rule..

I left mine on.  Or maybe I should say "Part" of it.

The logo is stick-on letters.  It used to say,

                      Crown

                          Buick GMC Trucks

in their stylish lettering.  I pulled the C and the r off of "Crown" and the B, u, i and k off the buick.  I connected the open end of the "c" and removed the "s" off of trucks.  It now looks like

                       own

                            a  GMC Truck.

Kind of looks neat, at least better than it did.  If I couldn't do something like that I would have definately removed the whole thing.

HAHA,

I wonder how many of you would be so quick to peel the YENKO logo off of your Camaro :D:D

:D I was more than happy to leave the "free advertising" on the back of my truck after I got a good price and awesome followup service on the truck I bought used.  The dealer went above and beyond what he could have so I don't feel bad about his small sticker on the back of my Suburban.

I was very happy with the deal I got, extremely happy with the service, and buying locally is a rare thing where I live.  So when they asked if I didn't mind the stickers they were putting on the bottom of the tailgate I didn't have a problem with it.  My only request was that it either be white or black.

I went out to get my truck and not only was it bright red, they stuck it at the top of the tailgate about an inch underneath there the tailgate cap stops...  I guess since I was "willing" they were going to go all the way!  lol  Who puts a bright red sticker on a pewter truck anyway?  That thing was like a blinking hotel sign!!!  That was not cool...

I didn't waste much time searching these forums for a way to safely remove that darn sticker.  :D

I must be lucky.  The Chevy dealer out here doesn't put any of those stupid dealer stickers on any of the vehicles.  Only thing I had was the dealer license plate frames which went in the trash when I got home, I hate license plate frames no matter what they say, they cover up my nice Lake Tahoe plates I am paying for...
