Is This Possible?

after much research and drooling over silverado's all over the internet, i think i have found what i will do to my truck (since i just ordered the parts last night  ) --It is an 09 silverado crew cab 4x4. First is the level kit, then the 1.5" body lift, then 295/70r17 cooper discoverer stt's. But i want more height for cheap and possibly bigger wheels yet. is it possible to add a strut spacer to one of those 2" lifted front struts that are for sale on summit and such? If so i wil have to look into it. I fell in love with the GMC HD All Terrain Sierra, but unfortunately i'd never be able to afford one so i can try to build myself one lol

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

My 2010 Silverado with RC 2" leveling kit and 3" rear blocks sits even with a 2500HD Sierra. Only thing higher on the HD was the hood because it's steeper than the 1500's. It won't take much money to get your truck to sit level with an HD. You'll be surprised how much of a difference just the leveling kit will make.

I'm not sure what part you are speaking of from Summit, if you want more front lift then go with a 2.5" level from a upper spacer. If you want more lift for cheaper then go with a 3" BL instead of a 1.5". You can see the setup I have on my truck below in my sig, I sit right with my buddy's '08 HD with a torsion crank and 285/75/16's.

I know its not for sale. I was just reading last night on popular mechanics that its been authorized for production (unfortunately with out the duramax)

and dirtfan: this is what i was talking about

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAN-RS999901/

It is the rancho quick lift. It is a strut that adds 2" already. I just wanted to see if this is compatible with a strut spacer too. I am not sure if it is or not and i cant read into mechanical stuff very easily sometimes

Thats the sierrra all terrain im talking about lol

and can you add a 2" spacer to a 2" longer strut?gmc-sierra-all-terrain-hd-xl.jpg

How can you not afford something that doesn't exist? It's a concept vehicle, not for sale and most likely will never be for sale. The information in my last post I thought you were talking about the existing 2500HD trucks. Going to be pretty hard for you to build one of the trucks in the picture. Nobody even knows what parts are on that truck.

FYI : That is a Sierra you are slobbering over, not a Silverado. LOL!

here is the link to the truck. it is supposed to go into production according to this artile. and i dont think i'll ever be able to afford it lol, which is why im going to try to atleast have a feel of a bigger truck and just pretend in my head that this is what im driving lol. and i know its a sierra, i actually liked the look of the sierras better when i got my truck, but i got a great deal on the chevy and went with this instead of the sierra i was looking at. figured its pretty much the same truck anyhow, just a bit different outside styling

You cant add a 2" spacer to a 2" taller strut. Theres a reason that real suspension lifts cost $$$$$$$$$$ Once you get over 2-2.5" of lift, you need to do some correction to suspension and driveline angles.

yeah you can stack the spacer ontop of the two inch lift strut, but it will cost you a hell of alot more in repairs than a real suspension lift will once everything goes to hell, which wont take long at all

ok thanks guys, i'll have to weigh my options. not that just a 1.5 body lift isnt good enough. i was hoping for an extra couple inches for cheap lift. thanks for the info! im new to trucks, been working on my 87 trans am for a while and never touched a truck till now lol

the cost of an actual lift is out of my price range. so i think i'll stick with the leveling kit, 1.5" body lift and the 295/70r17's idea. thanks for the input everyone! im just learning all this stuff now lol

you will be happy with the leveling kit and BL. i would suggest getting a 2.5" leveling kit, and at minimum of a 2" block in the rear. these trucks look badass with 4" of lift
