Watched a news clip the other day and they claimed Onstar GPS is still actively tracking you even if you don't subcribe. Taking out the fuse does not disable it. Does any one know how to permantly disable this intrusion? 2010 Sierra 6.2. Thanks.

Unplug the antenna or have dealer disable system. Or realize that network news exists solely to hype up stories.

Take off the tin foil hat jackass, no one is tracking you and noone gives 2 shits what you are doing.

1. If you remove the fuse how the hell would OnStar connect with the module? Answer THEY CAN'T

2. If your hiding something and wanna keep the tin hat on just press the BB and ask to have your account deactivated, OnStar cancels the phone # for the vehicle and can no longer communicate with the module

3. NOBODY is tracking you, nobody cares, OnStar does have the ability to track an active account vehicle for stolen vehicle purposes but DO NOT do any big brother spying so many tin hat wearing idiots think they do again NOBODY cares where you go or what you do

And you know how? Not trying to get into a pissing match but, I just canceled my Onstar yesterday for my car as it was going to be up on the 2nd of October anyways.

They told be over the phone that they can still actively track my vehicle. But by canceling my account, I will not have the following features like Emergency (automatic crash response), Security (stolen vehicle, unlocking door or roadside assistance), and Connections services (hands free calling). I also would not receive via email a month vehicle diagnostic report.

More onstar threads....

I have over a dozen years of experience with car stereos and the like so I decided I would figure out a way for all of you guys that want to permanently disable it, what you need to do is get yourself some gas, if you have some in your tank you can use that, then a lighter and burn the thing to the ground. This will solve all of your problems, not only will onstar not be able to track you but you will no longer be able to use the vehicle for the activities you are paranoid about people finding out about so basically it is win win for you to burn the truck to the ground.

I do wonder how many of these people worried about OS also have smartphones that have been proven to track you, Facebook pages that keep all your info till the end of time and so on.
