What should stay, and what should go?

Well, its been a month or so here on the new forum. Obviously some of the forums are not doing very well.-Gm Safety.

So i would like everyones opinion on what topics should stay, what ones should go, and any topic that we should start.

I really would like to start a"Upcomming Vehicles" section for the Avalanche, SSR, Silverado SS, new suv trio, and the such. Anyone object?

Also there has been talk of combining the S-10/Sonoma and the Blazer/Jimmy section. I think its ok, because soon enough the new Blazer/Envoy and Bravada will be out to fill the space.

Everything will be considered!

Thanks all!

True, Safety, both motor forums, Suburban, and For Sale aren't getting a lot of hits.

I think the Safety, Subs, and For Sale should stay.

Maybe combine the the two motor forums, and if traffic picks up, split them up again later.

The racing season just began, how about trying a Motorsports thread?

I recommned killing the safety page.  Combining the sub page with the blazer/jimmy page into a SUV page.   Maybe a specialty page for SSr, 454SS, Syclone/typhoon and Avalanch?.  The upcoming Trailblazer and Envoy should go to the SUV page.

What ya think?

1st off, thanks Broker!

So this is what i think i'm hearing

To go:

1. Safety(maybe)

2. Combine "old" Blazer etc with "old" S-10 etc.

3. Combine motor forums

To come:

1. Motorsports

2. Worktruck

3.Concept/Upcomming

I think i'm missing somthing.

General 01- Whats a TopKick forum? Never heard of that

You know Mervz, the BIG trucks. the GMC TopKick, chevy Kodiak.

What do you think???

Oh and a question.

Back when the GM-TC forum had a blue background, you had a bashing topic. Why did you do away with it???

I forgot about the bash section!

I don't know if the big truck sections out get enough traffic. Hmm

I think we should join all pickups to one forum(including compacts) and have all the Suv's in one forum.  I really don't like having to look 30 different forums.

Maybe 3 or 4 forums including the picture forum.  I really like looking at other ppl's trucks so i can totally copy their ideas then say I was one fo the first to have that idea heh ehhe (J/K I don't have any freaking money to have any more mods lol)

so maybe something like this

SUV's

PICKUPS

Pic Post

General Off. T

and something like Guess their not perfect or along those lines.  :)

I like ScaryGuys idea.  Theres enough diferences now between the SUVs and the Trucks to have a different pages would be a good Idea, but still keeping it simple.

I just wanted to note, that we completed the first stage of forum re-org tonight.

tomorrow we will combine the s-10 and blazer forums, and the light duty and sub forums.

The order of some of the forums within the catagorys will also be messed with.

Hope everyone likes it so far!

Personally I feel the defining factor on the trucks is the engine and I think the catagories should be seperated by engine size and model. Engines with a fair amount of interchangable parts should be in the same forum. I know that doesn't seem to be popular but when it comes to trading ideas about working on the trucks, it seems to my many of the questions are engine related. Certianly there needs to at least be one engine forum if the others are still seperated by truck size. And lastly, I really don't think full size V8 trucks shold be in the same forum with S-10s.

Don't worry, we will not combine those sections.

Just S-10 and Blazer together, and light duty and Suburban together.

    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
    • Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
    • I can't believe that could possibly be the case. It should be 36mo/100k miles from installation. Then again, it also seems like since a dealership installed it, it'd all be in the system and you wouldn't need to worry about registering, either. Shows you what I know. 😄 Hope this one outlives the warranty!
    • I haven't seen inventory recovery from COVID.    In the few random times I 'build my own' truck or SUV, no one has the exact one I want.   GM has been working to lower incentives too for a long time.    A $500 incentive isn't getting me off the couch to go truck shopping.
