00sibeater Posted November 29, 2002 Posted November 29, 2002 im torn between which exhausts to get for my 5.3 chevy pu. jcwhitney has kit that is basically straight pipes 21/2" from catback dual out the rear, with just rosinator pipes for mufflers. is this system any good? i think it would it would be a lot less backpressure, but loud as #### i would imagine.
elk_hunter Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 I saw this too in my new catalog! Anyone have any information on this at all?
Texas1836 Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 If y'all are talking about the Heartthrob system that comes with either the stainless steel or powdercoat black tips, I had this on my 93 K2500. The tips are just glasspack mufflers shaped like huge resonator tips. I had the kit with the black powder coat tips, they sounded great, and looked even better. They weren't too loud, just a nice deep rumble, and by the seat of the pants feel, made a huge improvement in the way that old 350 ran. Thomas from TEXAS
