Just made an appointment for tommorrow morning for some new tires, BF Goodrich Long Trail TA 255's

Any opinions/reviews?

The BFG Long Trails were on my list when I bought tires for my truck. I think they should give decent traction along with a fairly quiet ride.

I had them in 31's on a ZR2 Blazer and they were a great tire, just didnt have the look for a ZR2 (not a very rugged looking tire). They seemed to last really long, I had 20,000 miles on it when I traded and they still looked brand new! They were great in the rain and good in the snow, not too good in the mud though. If you dont plan on off roading ALOT you will be happy with them.

I had them on my F 150(company truck)when I picked it up at the dealership.I rolled em for 40,000.Not an bad tire but basicly a highway tire.I found the rubber to be soft cause when making the slightest turns the tires would squeal.I have put coopers on since then and I like these alot better.All in all a descent tire in my opinion.....Gun

I have had a set of Long Trails (31x10.50R15) on my truck for about 6000 miles (just had them rotated). So far they are a big improvement over the tiger pucks that came with my truck, which is a 1998 C1500. They have a nice quite ride. They have a decent tread pattern. Certainly not an all-terrain, but not strictly a highway only tire. They do well in the rain. Not sure on snow yet, as we have only had a few flakes. So far I would buy them again. Thanks to a Sam's Club screw up I got all four for around $265.

I'm running 265D Long Trails on stock alloy wheels. Excellent wet weather traction. 18K miles and very little wear and hold balance very well. Rotated every 6K. Doesn't snow much in South Texas, but they are not very good off-road. On the other hand I've had A/T's and found they threw too many rocks and were much noisier on the highway. I highly recommend the Long Trails.

Well after driving through about 3-5 inches of snow this morning on my way to work I am a happy camper. They do much better than the original tiger paws. For a 2wd truck I had no problems. The extra width and the gov-lock may have helped when taking off though. Never even kicked the abs on. The old tires would set the abs off rather easily before in snow, plus I think a taller tire is supposed to even make it worse, not in this case.

I wasn't trying to relate the taking off with the abs. I can see the cornfusion after reading what I wrote. When stopping I never had the abs kick on.

What I have been told is when going to a larger diamter tire, the abs can become more sensitive due to a larger lever arm (tire height) the brakes have to overcome and/or control. This may or may not be caused by not reprogramming the ecu for the new tire size, which I haven't done...yet. Never could get a straight answer out of the dealers, had to come in first. Plan on getting a superchips tuner some day to correct the tire size.

I had them on my 97 Tahoe.

They were a quiet, long lasting tire that delivered decent overall traction. Not up to par in looks or overall traction of say a BFG A/T. But more than sufficient for where I took the thing off roading.

I just turned it back in (Lease) in July with around 55,000 miles on it and I'd guess it still had half the tread left on them. So they could've easily gone another 30-50k miles.
