Chevrolet Sonic.

Manufactured in Michigan.

I haven't seen one in person yet. But did watch the video.

Looks like a digital speedometer and an analog type tachometer. Not sure though as video showed little/brief.

The Saturn ION had the dash gauges in center of dash. Fine for some. But outside the norm.

Don't know if I can get used to a digital speedometer. Is this going to help or hinder the sales of the Chevrolet Sonic? Is it less costly to manufacture a digital speedometer? Or is GM attempting to sell to the youth market?

Are analog gauges going the way of the column shifter?

Back in the late 80's, GM made full digital dashes. This isn't new. From what I see on those photos, thats a cool little car. I actually liked them on a car I had (87 Z24).

The Civic has had the digital speedo/analog tach for several years now and I think GM just followed suit with the setup, though I do have to admit the Sonic's looks better and appears like it'd be easier to read quickly. The Civic is a 2-tier layout and crap is just scattered everywhere. I drove one as a rental for about a week and just couldn't figure out why it sold so well- everything about the interior was bland and miserable. They may be reliable and run forever but it was just a crappy place to spend time. I did however find out they can go through 6-8" of water by accident one day but that's another story.
