Exhaust setup ideas for Sierra or Silverado

Hello, been searching on here and found some good exhaust info! Wondering what everyone's experience is with aftermarket exhaust systems, especially on the 6.2l thats in my black sierra denali. Heres what I'm looking for! Nothing real loud, especially at idle and cruising speeds. I would love something to basically set off that factory sound. Something just slightly louder at start and idle, very little to no drone on cruising speeds, but a little something extra when getting into the gas a bit. It is a truck I rarely mash it down. Setup looks wise, I am thinking dual tips off the rear bumper, maybe dual quad tips as I saw someone elses on here that way that looks awesome.

I was considering the corsa dual sport system if that gives any idea of what I am thinking. But if I can find something very similar in a cheaper pre made system or a detailed custom system that I can know what to expect out of sound and quality then I may go that route. Best I saw the dual sport corsa was for a touch over $1k. Thanks in advance for the help on a topic that has been discussed a few times I'm sure. I'm just really picky, and the wife would nag about it if it sounded too loud or drone.

dB Exhaust uses the Corsa muffler with a lower-grade stainless for the piping. I have it on my truck and am very happy with it (about $550). On a 6.2 though any aftermarket kit will be a step down in exhaust though, your truck has 3.5" pipes from the factory, everything aftermarket is at most 3".

ok, thanks, any thoughts on what to do to make it look better and sound slightly louder?

The dB/Corsa kit is certainly louder but I don't think it or any exhaust does much for "looks". I got the single outlet that comes out in a stock location. 3" pipes with a 4" tip. It looks nice I guess but that was never a factor.

Thanks everyone, researching the db right now. Doesn't look quite as nice as the corsa but still looks better then my stock pipe! lol So if I have it right, is the db louder than the sport corsa, or are they similar?

If the pipe is the same size then you could just get the dB exhaust and buy the tips from the regular Corsa exhaust. It would be a win/win. Get the same muffler (sound) and the good looking tip for much less than the regular Corsa.

But I do agree, the dB tip does not look near as nice as the regular Corsa.

Is the dB muffler the same as the Touring or Sport?

dB is the same muffler as the Corsa sport so sound levels are similar. Tips can change tone so the Corsa might have a slightly different tone. This is a video of my truck with Corsa installed:

Anyone know what my stock exhaust size its? I think it is at least 3 inch.

I thought the main pipes (after cat) were 2.75".

I currently have the Corsa Touring on my truck. So would it be possible to purchase the dB muffler for my year/cab configuration and swap out the Corsa Touring muffler?

I believe when I had mine done at my local muffler shop it was 3" into the muffler and 2 3/4" or 2 7/8" out of the stock muffler. I went with a 3" in 2.5" out muffler for my dual exhaust.

Thanks for that Mike, it sounds really good! Do you notice any drone or loudness on highway cruising? Is it pretty tame sounding if you want it to be. I don't always want to be noticed!haha

I get some resonance when it's in 4 cyl mode under certain conditions. It's not consistent so it's hard to duplicate and I think it's more felt than heard. Either way, a song of your choice at a reasonable volume covers it up. Honestly I'd say cruising in V8 mode, especially in town it might be quieter in the cab than stock. But my trucks factory system was among the loudest I'd ever heard for a stocker. Once you open it up though it's a monster. I had an early flight out of Boston a few weeks ago and I left extra early so I could mess around in the tunnels under the city. Fun! Best way I can sell this setup is that I've gotten compliments from guys at work who aren't into cars on how nice it sounds.
