03 sierra fan blows even when key is off

Took my truck to job site this morning and turned it off. The fan continued to blow on high. Couldn't get it to slow or shut off even with the key off. I had to remove the fuse to shut it down. It must be a relay but I can't find a relay in the fuse box marked for the fan. Anyone know where it is or know what else it may be? TIA

very common issue lately.

Ive been through it, luckily you heard your fan continued going.. I did not realize it and it ran for 4-5 hours until my battery was dead.

Follow that link and you will see a ton of info and other links of mine to follow................

btw i ended up having to replace the resistor under the dash on pass side, and the blower motor itself as the old one kicked on sometims and othertimes not so if it felt like it... Goodluck , but you came to the right place!

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately I ran a red light and t-boned a Toy Sienna yesterday. No one was seriously hurt, thank God, but it did a number on the front end. I'm going to wait on the insurance to determine if it's worth repairing. The rads are not leaking and after I pulled the bumper mounts out of the right tire I can drive it. Only front end parts were damaged. Doors and back seem to be fine. Although it's paid for, with 190K miles not sure if the insurance money will be enough. I've had the tranny rebuilt, water pump replaced and about $1K of other repairs done on it in the past year and the motor runs strong and doesn't burn oil. I'd like to keep the old beast and it has been pretty good to me. Again, thanks for the replies and if I keep it, I know how to fix the fan

a 2003 model Sierra does not come from the factory with electric fans. they started being installed from the factory in 2005. Need pics to determine exactly what you are dealing with.

Blower motor fan. The resistor and connector are a common failure on 03-07 trucks, and as posted above, there is a special policy recall from GM on them.
