Random No Crank on 07 Sierra

Happy Holidays!

I have a 07 Sierra SLE RCSB 2WD 5.3 that I bought new in August of 2008. Up until two weeks ago, the 85,000 miles I have logged were mostly trouble free. I am now getting a random no crank, about once every 2-3 days. All I have to do is toggle the door locks with the remote and it will crank and start-up fine.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but just before the no-crank problem, my "service air bag" light and message appeared. The dealer did replace my rusty front bumper at about 75,000 miles (no charge, thanks GM and my local GMC dealer!!). Perhaps the connection on one of the sensors is not good?

Anyone had any similar issues and what was the resolution?

Thanks

SRS has nothing to do with starting the truck...

cycling the door locks makes no sence at all,the PCM gets a signal from the ign switch and then the PCM supplies the solinoid and vroom goes the engine ,,

take it in ,could be a bunch of things ya know

good luck

Well, If you have an aftermarket CD player installed, the door chime module could be the culprit. I had a cheap chime interface on my stereo and it was cusing all kids of havock with my door locks, starter, and lights on my dash. Ide say that if you have an aftermarket radio, change out the chime interface and see if thats the problem.

I know it sounds strange, but a new interface fixed all of my issues.

Thanks for the reply's. I guess its off to the dealer for a diagnosis on the Air bag light and hopefully there may be another code related to the intermittent no crank problem.
