2010 USB Error

I just got a '10 Suburban LTZ with Bose Nav. Every 2 to 3 minutes I get a USB ERROR on the screen no matter what source I'm listening to (XM, FM, Nav, DVD).

 

The cool usb port in the console does nothing. Tried iPhone, Flash Drive. In the aux menu, USB is disabled.

 

I thought it might be a connection issue so I first pulled the connector in the console and disconnected it. Still got USB Error. So, I pulled the head unit out and disconnected usb from the back of it. Put everything back together and still got USB Error.

 

Truck has over 60k so thinking dealer is gonna recommend a $2000 replacement system? Is it worth taking it in?

Well there hasn't been much discussion on the USB except for guys wanting to add them. Do you by chance have a pinched USB cable? Have you removed the radio and unplugged the USB Port to see if there might be a bad connection?

Yes. I removed the plug from the back of the head unit and get same error so don't believe it is the cable.

I would be willing to bet the radio has probably crapped out regarding USB if you have troubleshot the cable.

 

If you bought it Certified Pre-Owned from a dealer it has a 12k mile, 1 year warranty. If not, I would purchase the Advent setup for $1,000. It is better than factory, cheaper than factory and looks identical to factory. I am probably going to order one soon for myself!

 

There may also be a way to re-flash the radio

Thanks for the reply. The reflash is a hope. I would even love if the USB could be turned off to supress the error. Then I could buy a lockpick for iPod.
