automatic factory fog lights on with lights

My 2010 gmc seemed to do quite well last night in the fog. They also help with lighting up the lines on the road when it's wet and slushy out in dark places.

I think they would do much better with either an amber lense or brighter amber bulb. Amber light is a much better spectrum of light to cut through fog versus a white light which causes more reflectivity and less penetration.

Fog lights are good for spotting bambis lurking about the side of the road, too.

I run my fogs because with only the DRLs on the tail lamps are not. When you turn on the fog lamps the truck will also turn on your parking lamps and tail lamps. Especially nice when I'm pulling a trailer, and want all the lights I can get.

As far as HID in fog lights (no need for this - REMOVED last section).

Then why not just turn on your headlights and fog lights?

If I turn on the fogs and leave the DRLs on, they automatically turn off. If I manually turn the Headlamps on, its one more thing I have to remember to turn off. Or leave it on and let Roadside Assistance call me a dumba$$. :nonod:

Wondering if it is possible to make the factory fog lights on an 09 Silverado come on when the DRL's or low beams are on. Not a fan of always having to turn them on every time i start the truck. Would be nice if someone made an aftermarket switch to accomplish this. Not looking to do any cutting of the factory wiring.

Is it really that difficult to push a button.....??

Its not about being difficult, just hard to remember. I like to run with my fogs and lights on at all times. Also, it seems every other car on the market already has this capability. Why can't Chevy get this figured out?

If you can't remember, it can't be that important. ;-) Why do you need all those lights on?

Because it costs money..........

And, not every other car on the market is set up this way, they remember to push the button...... It's probably a good thing you don't have a "Push to Start" button......

Sorry if I sound like I'm being an ass, but really.... Some of the things people complain about on here about there vehicles is quite silly. Like one guy complaining about having to look down to adjust the heater/AC which takes their eyes off the road, I guess this person has a HUD and never looks down at their speedometer or gages or adjusts the radio station. They must run out of gas all the time... I bet they look at their cell phone when it rings or a text pops up.....

Just my .02's worth....
