30,000 mile maintenance

So I got my oil changed today, and when I picked it up the dealer told me some major maintenance is coming due at 30,000. They quoted me the following:

Clean injectors & induction system. $140

Synthetic transmission fluid change. $180

Front dad rear diff fluid change. $220

And transfer case fluid change. $100

Do those prices seem reasonable to you folks???

What does your owner's manual say. When I bought mine the earliest interval for any of that was 50,000 miles. Now what I think of those prices:

Clean injectors & induction system. $140 - get some Techron fuel injection cleaner

Synthetic transmission fluid change. $180 - do it yourself if you can, if not maybe

Front dad rear diff fluid change. $220 - do it yourself

And transfer case fluid change. $100 - do it yourself

WOW.............No way it should cost that much BUT that is how dealers make their money, in the service dept. You can do that work yourself much, much cheaper than what you were quoted. Just go to an autoparts store and buy the proper fluids.

Do it yourself

Like everyone else is saying do it yourself you'll save a lot of money. Also if you aren't using your 4wd all that often your fluids in front and transfercase will be good for a while. Your injectors shouldn't be bad at all run some high octane and injector cleaner and you'll be fine.

Like the others said doing it yourself save you ton of bucks.

Look in the owners manual a timeline of service given by dealer is a money grab, so is the fuel injector service especially at 30,000 miles wow.

I might add if your time is precious that transmission service is reasonable, it is a hassle and a half day project.
