Anyone seen powder coated stock 18 wheels?

I found a local guy that will powder coat my stock wheels but wonder what it would look like? I think that would look SWEET. But it might be a PITA waiting a few days for them to finish them. If I do buy aftermarket wheels can the TMPS things be move from my stock wheels onto the new ones? Or do I need to buy new ones?

Thanks!

You can find rims that will retain the tpms. Either way will it be cheaper to powder coat? Or get new rims?

Powder coating is cheaper by far. I've had quotes for as little as $25 per wheel if I brought the wheels without tires on them :dunno:

I say go for it. I'm getting mine powder coated in the spring  They've taken 6 winters abuse and are due for some needed help.

A few days? They should be able to sandblast them and coat them and be ready to pick up in less then. Day

In a perfect world yes, but in CA no. What's a good place to see a bunch of black wheels online? I want to see what different black power coated wheels look like.

I powder coated mine on my TL-S I had a few years back. They looked awesome but traded them for some aftermarket wheels and can't find pics of them. I know you can get them in flat, glossy or satin finishes. I payed $25 per wheel for 18s and they took the tires off and re-balanced them for me.

Damm, must be inflation because one shop is charging $80 per wheel and it will take a week (they ship them out to be stripped). I'm going to just buy another set.

How weird do you think a '5 off set will look with stock 265/65/18 tires? I want the option to lift it down the road.

Should look ok, it'll stick out about an inch further. Sounds like a good place to start.

Just got these done today. This is what the stock 16" wheels from a GMT800 2500HD look like in semi gloss black. I will have them mounted up on Thursday.

Those look really good! I like how you kept the center caps chrome....helps to break it up a little. How much did that run you...if you don't mind me asking?
