Doesnt matter to me unless you are trying to explain a very technical problem or post a write up/how-to.

We all come from different lifestyles and educational backgrounds, makes it interesting!

We care a little. You don't have to be perfect. Just try your best. I just want to be able to read and understand what you're trying to say. The people that never punctuate and have one sentence 10 lines long, I don't bother to read

Grammar. :)

Yeah, GRAMMAR! Just enough to read and understand is OK.

I can't stand people who use no punctuation and just keep writing and writing and it gets so bad that you can't even understand what they're saying and it's funny because those are the people who get the most angry when you ask them to fix their post they get really mad possibly because they only went to school through the sixth or seventh grades and their parents never taught them the correct way to deal with adversity boy is it annoying because it's not easy to read all those words without seperate paragraphs to break it all up or at least some punctuation marks somewhere whenever I see someone who types out a post like that I will be the first one to provoke them because it really is an inconvenience to the rest of us who don't feel like inducing vertigo just just read some stump-jumper's post asking what part of the fender should he mount his mudflaps to man I tell ya people like that should be banned automatically there has got to be a way that we could have software installed on the forum that can pick up run-on posts like this one for crying out loud

If you are really concerned about grammar and punctuation, it's best not to spend a lot of time on an internet forum! :>) However... We own a generation that has lost the art of professional communication. We text in a "language" that is far from "King's English". 'Spell check' has moved us away from being able to spell, even the most common words. Were I interviewing for someone to fill a position, today, I would ask them to turn in a hand-written letter explaining why they are qualified for the job. I'm sure it would be amazing how some of the letters would turn out.

One of the favorite pastimes at our home is Scrabble. I'm 66. My wife is 65. Our married daughters are 40 and 36. The daughters love to come home and experience "Scrabble marathons" that will run into the wee morning hours. My wife and I will have competitive Scrabble games going 3 or 4 evenings/week. Somehow... some way... I want to keep the old "noggin" working/thinking. Puzzles/games are a great source of mental exercise.

Other than athletes, you seldom hear those with rewarding careers who cannot communicate well. Learn to write well. Learn to speak well. And... another pet peeve... learn to communicate without the use of 4-letter words. But... that's an entire discussion in itself ............

Don't worry. I can't tell if the grammar is right or not. I'm to busy to get my own in check... :) .

On one hand there are people who are lacking grammar and spelling because of dyslexia (I hope that's the right translation).

Thats a reading and writing disability and has nothing to do with stupidity. Stupid are people who don't know about such things and trying to be smart.

On the other hand there are people who just don't care......as they do with other things in their life too.

Mom says i have it . Never been tested and I personally believe I dont have it. I just think English writing skills have always been hard. Took a two hour test yesterday It was a all written test . I erased some of my answers 3 times because I felt they where not clear enough with my writing skills it was really annoying.

That's what I have a problem with. I hate seeing "text posts". Heck, I don't even like getting texts like that. I have a hard time taking these types of posts seriously because obviously the poster didn't put much effort into it.

However I do have sympathy for people who are trying, but it just doesn't come out right. No biggie.

It doesn't bother me because I am fluent in both normal English and "text" speak. My parents always made sure that I focused on my spelling and grammar when i was younger. I text and type the way I learned to in school. My dad texts me like he's writing a business e-mail. There have been plenty of times when my friends text me that I've texted back and been like "What did you just say?"

I have no problem with people not typing or speaking for that matter if they were never educated that well. It's the ones, like my friends, who are all in college and had been taught well, but choose to ignore that so they "fit in."

Thought i read you guys have a mobile website . Some people do have older phones still with out a keyboard pad. Reason why text post came around because you pay per word and per page on your phone when you text and to most people texting is just fine. I have some habits that carry over on informal conversations on the net from texting.

is (texting) even a word it keeps on coming up red but spell checker does not have a solution.

Hey, Leno claims to be dyslexic, and look where it got him!

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
