th400 transmission

will a th400 diesel transmission work in a 1995 chevy z71 5.7 litre? my truck currently has the 4l60e transmission which has a bd shift solenoid or something that making it a manual..a crappy one

i got to thinking my truck is probably elctronically shifted so the vacuum 400 may not work...and my transmission is messed up anyways

I would look for a another 4l60e.You wont be happy without OD trust me.

im used to driving a truck without od i dont do alot of driving where it would be nice to have but i know it would be way differetn in a 95...

Not happening without adaptor kits and a pcm reflash.

 

Replace the solenoid, if that's all that's causing your issues, and move on. Had a 3-2 downshift solenoid go south in my '98 4L60E and within an hour it was back up and running with 0 issues still at 200,000+ miles.

3 speed TH400 is a great transmission in a muscle car with a big torque 400+ CU IN engine but you don't want it with a 350.
