It looks like the safety acceptance issue has been solved, but I have not tried it yet. Has anybody figured out how to make the Navigation program to automatically run?

played with it again last night. i couldn't get some of the changes mentioned here to work in the .ini files. i did notice inside my data.zip file there was a folder named data that contained everything in the zip file, like the contents were copied and stuck into that folder. anyone's else like this? basically i have 2 identical files for everything in there; one is in its normal place, and the other is inside that data folder in its corresponding folder inside that.

i made some more changes to my sys.txt and everything i messed with ((extra settings, skip menu page) worked, but the auto-run after 3 seconds still isn't. i'm wondering if its a bug with the advent firmware and not iGo, because i do have the check box in the initial run navigation page for Auto-run checked. for now i have the "automatically run GPS" turned on in my advent settings menu, but i noticed if i hit the source or XM button to change the radio channel, after a few seconds the page changes back to iGo. kind of annoying if i don't wanna look at the map. even with that on, when the screen changes to nav on start up, the initial run navigation page pops up for a second or two.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the great investigative work.

I followed your instructions on the remove accept page and it has worked, FINALLY.

I also like the added settings where you can chose to open in preview screen or full map etc...

The one thing, in addition to auto starting Igo, is the POI icons.

When I drive I get a million blue generic icons but no brand specific icons. I do get a BP fuel icon which there are none around my area so I don't care.

You would think that driving by a McDonalds, 7-11, Taco Bell etc... you should see their logo verses the generic blue knife and fork icon.

When I'm driving down the hwy it would be good to know what restaurants or gas stations are coming up verses a mystery dot.

I hate to be making good time cruising 80 mph and exit because I see a restaurant icon hoping for a subway or something.

After wasting all the time to exit I find a Vietnamese restaurant with a cold cat combo or dog tail soup special.

Has anybody found some POI files for the good ole USA? I see there are tons of international KML files for Australia, Greece ext.. however those brands do me no good here in Texas. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to run across a Gyro Shack or Kangaroo Klub here where I live.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

On my unit when you are on a 4 lane highway it shows an exit ramp icon under the easy menu button in the right top corner, when you select that icon it lists the restaurants, motels, ect. at that exit. You can customize it as to what you want it to display. I agree it would be nice if the POI's actually displayed the proper identification.

Interesting, I had not noticed nor tried that. Thanks a bunch for the tip.

The hwy is one time when I need the poi icon however even in the city just driving around its difficult to decipher whats what.

When you come up to a busy intersection all 4 corners are crowded with blue knife and fork icons but you don't know what they heck they are.

You still need to look for the business sign to know what it is. i guess for now at least I know there is food of some type around the corner.

With gas it doesn't really matter the store brand, if I know there is gas I can stop and get gas.

With food it would be good to know what kind of food.

I'll keep searching and see if I can find a downloadable POI icon pack for our systems.

I see screen shots on Google of iGo primo units with McDonalds and 7-11 etc in the screen shot so I know it exist....somewhere.

This added the ability to skip Navigation Page and go directly to the map, added Compass, Music player, Additional cockpit themes, ect...

Which option are you saying allows the skipping of the Navigation Page and go directly to the map?

[interface]

extra_settings="1"

This gives you additional settings options in your menu, you select full screen on start up in that menu.

Hey folks,

Thanks for the great info here. I just installed the OGM1 in a Buick Enclave and looking how to perform the following and so far have found some of the info on this board. Great job by all sharing info with each other.

1) Load the Nav software when starting the vehicle instead of after pressing the Nav button

Status: Unknown how to do. Any help out there on this one???

2) Skip the legal disclaimer message after Nav loads

Status: Resolved by editing the Audiovox_USA_OE.ini file in \data.zip\config\devices by changing drive_carefully from 1 to 0

FYI: After restarting, it took a couple miles before the satellites were re-acquired.

3) Go directly to full screen map upon loading

Status: Resolved by adding the following to sys.txt

[interface]

extra_settings="1"

Then selecting the skip navigation menu in the extra settings menu.

^ Yes, #1 is what we need to find the answer for. I got #2 and #3 resolved from the tweaks from this thread, and I appreciate the help!

#1 will require Advent's help, none of the changes we make to the SD card matter until the Nav button is pushed (which is what actually launches the .exe).

I agree that needs to be fixed, but unfortunately it's not something we have control over, unless we get a little assistance.

I REALLY didnt want to make ANOTHER OGM1 thread, so i'm going to ask my question here. My NAV voice stopped working. Not sure when or why. I have not used the NAV to actually get me to a destination since i first installed the unit. I just tried it last night on my way home from work. I'm not getting any voice telling me where to go or when an exit is approaching that i should be taking. Now, even when i go into the settings and try different voices, the system does not even speak the sample message. I'm not sure what happened?

Walt, if you see this is there any chance to can pass this along to Advent/Audiovox? I had listed the same thing in the features request thread, but this is a super simple fix for them to just add it to the EXE. so hopefully it's something they can roll out relatively quick.

Guys, there is a work around for this (auto starting the NAV software), its not the "BEST" but it DOES work without having to push the NAV button.

Backup your SD card, then edit your SD card - Data.zip > config > devices > Audiovox_USA_OE.ini

In the [interface] section EDIT the following lines "drive_carefully=1" and ADD the following line "extra_settings=1"

drive_carefully=0

extra_settings=1

Here is my interface section from my Audiovox_USA_OE.ini as an example:

[interface]

shutdown_time=0

maxzoom2d=6000000

;edited 3/13/12 -JH show_exit=0

show_exit=1

exit_on_sd_remove=1

;edited 3/13/12 -JH drive_carefully=1

drive_carefully=0

default_anim_off=0

;added below lines 3/13/12 -JH

extra_settings=1

show_gps_config=1

start_navigation_time=3

Then, from the NAV software, hit Menu at the bottom left and select the new icon for "extra settings" and select the check box for "Show navigation menu" (or something like that i forget the exact verbage)

Then, go into the Menu > Settings > Auto Start GPS > ON

BOOM - Next time you start your truck, give it a min and Nav will load automatically and go right to the map.
