Has anyone figured out how to eliminated the Warning page so you don't have to hit "accept" every time you restart the unit?

The previous post I made about modifying the igo9.ini file gets rid of the warning page. That's why I made the post.

How are you guys modifying the data.zip file? Are you copying it off of the sd card, unzipping it, modifying the .ini files, then zipping it back up and copying it back to the sd card?

Posted

I originally copied everything off the card to my hard drive as a backup. I then modify the files directly on the sd card. Once I open the .zip file in winzip I can modify individual files. Once I close the opened file, winzip asks me if I want to update the .zip file. It basically does it automatically.

Just a suggestion here - as you change your entries and figure out what changes each mod makes, it would be a good idea to start a new thread (or a "master list" entry in this thread) outlining exactly which lines to change in which .ini/.ui/.txt file to get the changes to take place - that way an owner could use the surgical approach and change only those things that he wants from the list of changes available without having to read the entire thread and keep track of each relevant entry to get the entire picture of what's possible...

Agreed. I had planned to start a new thread but wanted a single place for people to look in the future rather than having to search multiple threads.

After screwing around with the sys.txt file for a while and not getting it to work I dug deeper into the .ini files in the .zip files. I figure the .ini files were overriding anything that was set in the sys.txt. I found a number of the entries that can appear in the sys.txt file in various .ini files. I was able to "fix" the gps altitude that never changed on my unit. I also found a setting that appears to turn off the user agreement when first entering the nav page. Interestingly, I also was able to cause my unit to run out of memory. It popped up a message a few minutes after it was on the nav page telling me it was running out of memory. First, the two files I modified were igo9.ini and Audiovox_USA_OE.ini. Both are located in the data.zip file in the root of the sd card (or wherever you have igo installed). In the igo9.ini, mine has the following: [gps] delay_after_pos_valid=1000 delay_after_pos_invalid=1 ;added next line 3.11.2012 -bt set_messages="0" [interface] skin="ui_igo9" newalignment=1 bilang_city=1 enable_stateanim=1 builtin_themes="SKIN~Default - night|skin_night,SKIN~Picto|default_picto,SKIN~Picto Night|default_picto_night" resultsinqueryorder=1 use_autohint=0 font_quality="light" show_tutorial=1 use_dual_names=0 theme_night="skin_night" ;added next two lines 3.11.2012 -bt recalc_voice="0" ;start_navigation_time="3" Only the lines after my comment were modified. Everything else was already there. After I got the memory error I commented out the start_navigation_time="3" line and I haven't gotten the error again. Changing that line didn't seem to do anything for me anyway. I really want the unit to go straight to the map rather than make me choose map or navigate but I haven't figured that one out yet. In the Audiovox file, I have the following: [interface] shutdown_time=0 maxzoom2d=6000000 show_exit=0 exit_on_sd_remove=1 ;next line modified 3.11.2012 -bt was drive_carefully=1 drive_carefully=0 default_anim_off=0 After making the above change I no longer get the user agreement page. Interestingly, even if I put it back to it's original setting I still don't get the page. It seems I've removed that requirement altogether.

Just to be clear, you no longer have a sys.txt file, correct?

I'm finding that editing the sys.txt file is not making changes to some settings while others it does work.

I was able to get my Altitude working with this sys.txt file (note all other files remain factory default), however I have not been successful at bypassing the safety warning screen.

On a side note, how can you tell (or see visually) if you have a good satellite link or not?

Posted

Correct, I do not have a sys.txt file located on my sd card. I only made changes to the igo9.ini file and the audio...ini file and I no longer have the warning page and my altitude works.

Note, a number of the changes you have in your sys.txt file are already set in the igo9.ini file. I think the sys.txt file is being overidden by the .ini files which is why some things are working and others aren't.

Mine shows a visual representation of satellite reception on the nav screen.

where exactly, maybe i'm over looking at it.

Posted

It was along the top of the nav page. It had a little representation of a satellite pointing up to the right. I don't drive it every day so I could be mistaken.

In my parking lot here at work i'm surrounded by tall buildings and i'm not getting satellite reception. I keep getting a "Demo" button in the bottom right corner that wants me to choose a demo route. anyone else get that?

Posted

I had that when I first made the changes to the .ini files. I drove a few miles and still had it. I turned off the unit while driving and turned it back on a few miles later and it started working.

when you say "turned off the unit" you mean holding in the volume knob or actually using the newly programmed red "exit" button?

    • Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.
    • Can someone confirm if the GM order workbench terminal is able to validate a custom build sequence:   1) Initialize the Allocation Base: Open a new vehicle build queue, select the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban 4WD, and pick the High Country (3LZ Preferred Equipment Group).   2) Select the Diesel Powertrain: Go directly to the engine configuration screen and choose RPO code LZ0 (3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel). Ensure it maps to the MHS 10-speed automatic transmission.   3) Deploy the Seating Swap: Navigate to the Interior Options screen and enter RPO code ATT to replace the standard captain's chairs with the power-release 60/40 bench seat. Because you are not trying to force a separate luxury or air-suspension bundle, the standard, premium D07 Fixed Floor Console remains active. The system will accept this change immediately without triggering a warning message.   3)Apply Heavy-Duty Hauling Capability: Input RPO code NHT (Max Trailering Package). The commercial terminal will automatically bundle the required trailering hardware and software modules to support the diesel engine's maximum towing capacity.   5) Layer the Premium Tech and Glass: Separately add code C3U (Panoramic Power Sunroof) and code UKL (Super Cruise) to the order screen.   6) Run the Final Validation: Click the "Validate Order" button at the bottom of the interface.
    • Spent the last hour or 2 googling and reading up on the spacer thing. I don't like the loss of thread contact on the slip on spacers, but it appears you can get "extended" lug nuts that reach into the hole of the wheel to get back the lost threads. Looks like the only true hubcentric slip on spacers are at least .375". I'd want as little as I could get away with and don't want to cause other clearance issues going any thicker. Bora seems to offer what appears to be a well made .375" spacer and extended lug nuts. I searched here and did find a couple threads recommending Bora. But not cheap. By the time I buy spacers and lugs, new TPMS sensors, then pay a tire shop to install the new sensors, I suspect I'm going to be in over $400. Thinking about running out and getting some washers to put behind the wheel to see if .375" is enough to clear calipers, turn lock to lock without rubbing, and to see if the wheels/tires look strange pushed out a little. This would just be to check fitment.
    • Roadmaster makes some quality parts; I have their sway bar. I considered the RAS, but I ended up bagging. I didn't know what kind of ride I'd get with RAS, and the bags have interior jounce bumpers, so I can run 0 pounds pressure. I figured I'd have the best of normal suspension ride with assist on-demand. But it seems you got pretty much the same in one item.
