Cruise Control

So I cant remember the last time I used cruise control in my 07 gmt900 but this morning on the highway I tried to use it and it is not working. The light on the steering wheel come on when you push the button but when you try to set the speed, nothing.

Just curious if anyone had this issue or has any ideas for a quick fix before I take it to the dealer to look at.

I have a 05 on mine all the controls are on the headlight/wiper/blinker lever. I first have to turn a little switch on then I push a button to set it and then i can go a little faster by pushing in a button or slower by pushing in the button to set it . It turns off if I press the brake or clutch or turn it off on the lever.

and I have to be going so fast to engage it . Will not work on a gravel road doing like 30 km in like 2nd gear or 3rd on my truck.

um maybe you need to replace the bowden cable but i doubt it.

You said you dont remember the last time you used it . Try reading your manual about it and see if you pushed the right buttons. I am out of ideas but will follow topic to learn .

It's all computer controlled on the 900's so if you've done everything correctly to set it, I'd be speaking with a mechanic

the same thing happend to my 08 Sierra, turned out to be the brake light switch. Replaced the switch and the cruise works now.

i have the exact same problem, i took mine in to have the dashboard replaced, and next thing i know, the light on the button turns on but it wont set or anything...the damn dealer also ripped the shift boot on the steering column and didnt replace it...

im going to look into my fuses and and brake light switch today

You bcm might need reflashed if they replaced the dash. That fixed my issue

Updated brake switch for '07 900 pickups and utilities for these kinds of similar concerns. A good scan of the ecm cruise failure listings should tell the story though.
