To update the ogm 1s firmware you have to use winzip

 

well what if your free trial of winzip has ended??

 

Any thoughts??

What OS are you running? XP and up can handle zip files out of the box..

WinZip works anyways...just close the box telling you the trial is expired.

you don't need winzip. they just suggest it if your computer can't extract zipped files to begin with, which 99.9% of windows based computers do.

Or go w/ free 7zip www.7-zip.org 7zip can open dang near any type of compressed file.

you do not need winzip, as the rest said. just right click and extract all.

Thanx guys....found this one called express zip.....seems to work ...and free 4 personal use

 

Does anyone know if u can load the updates on a blank sd and install them on the unit

 

just hate messing with the map card

no, the updates have to be put on the map sd card. each card is unique to that unit.

its behind the little cover labelled "MAP" on the top right of the unit. read the instructions that are on the firmware update page of Advent's website before starting the update.
