2-Way Advanced Remote Start installation

I've got the iPhone Onstar app that allows me to start the truck from any where. I was a good 3/4 mile from truck and had the horn blowing and lights going on and off before I started it. The guys thought that my truck was having a fit. It was very funny watching them try and figure out what was going on with it.:jester:

They do make a range booster i was looking in to it the other day, it also comes with a smartphone app so you can start, lock and unlock it too. Its pretty cool.

i agree the remote they give you with this is f n huge....i wound up spending more money and getting them to sell me the smaller remote (normal size) but with the remote start.

don't miss knowing the tire pressure and how much gas i have left...

addtl remote i could have spent all the money on a good after market one..

Does installing the GM 2-way remote disable the factory remotes?

Can the 2-way be programmed at home or does it need to be GM installed?

Thanks

I ordered mine with the remote start, what a fricking joke. Had a one mile clifford put in and have been

100% satisfied. On flat ground with truck in site I started it a little over 1/2 mile mile and I'm sure it would

start farther. I think you would be MUCH happier with a good aftermarket. JMHO

I agree! I also had a Clifford 1 mile with security installed after I saw what a joke the factory was. I've had remote starts since 92 and this is by far the best I've ever used. Never tried a mile, but it will start my truck a LONG way off.

Give the dealer a chance to compete obviously if they are way off thats one thing but if close get it from them..... I did it once and my dealer asked me "would you take a steak from the grocer to the restaurant and have them cook it"? from then on I do my shopping and buy from them they have never been more than a few bucks more and I usually come out ahead on a installation discount or shipping costs

whoa old topic sorry

Yeah, I would like to know about the range booster and smartphone app as well. My truck did not come with factory remote start, but I just got the kit and need to get it into the dealer to have it programmed. I know that you can use the Onstar mobile App to do the remote start, but I don't think I want to pay $18+ per month for this feature.

If you have an active onstar subscription the remote start should work, im thinking of getting the remote start installed in my truck, its wired in already, just needs the box and 2 fobs programmed.
