OGM-1 clock or software issue

Discovered today that my changing this to Arizona time did not fix it. Tried Walt's suggested fix and it didn't work either. I hope they fix this in the next upgrade. I can't get the clock correct.

I know I had a similar problem with a Pioneer AVIC unit I had which was essentially the same setup; Windows CE running a custom frontend for A/V and a separate stand alone nav software.

On that unit the issue was with how Windows CE handled DST time. Because the time tables were written into CE so long ago they use the old dates before it was changed in 2007. If the problem is actually the same, it should correct itself the first Sunday in April, which was when DST used to start.

I expect it will be correct in April. My other Nav unit has the same issue since it uses the old change dates and has the correct time first Sunday in April.

Too bad we can't get the unit to boot into CE (yet), we could solve this problem and fix all of the other UI related hurdles.

You're correct: yet... :)

There's always a way to force CE, it's the backbone of the deck. The machines my employer makes use CE as the base OS on the touch panel and there's a way in on those and I'm sure there is on the Advent too, I just have no idea how to do it.

Maybe someone from Advent will "accidentally" send the software key they use to override the default interface .exe over to Walt...

So my original fix did not last. Here is my new solution that is working. You have to adjust the time zone in the radio setup. For me, it was an hour behind because of the daylight savings conflict, so I just switched the time zone from central to eastern. Boom everything is fine. A bit of a pain but it works.

I said that was a solution on the first page.

Glad you figured it out nonetheless.

Ditto. It was always an hour off, despite repeatedly resetting the time, the first few days I had it installed until I read this thread.

changing time zone worked for me as well.

Just realize that you'll need to change the timezone back after the first Sunday in April. Better than changes it all the time though.

I found on my OGM1 that the time displayed in the non-nav mode would not stay as set, it would always go back one hour, while at the same time, IGO kept the correct time. Advent should be using the nav software to sync time instead of having its own time of day program.

Advent uses the system time in Windows CE, which is where the bug exists.

But yes, I agree, it should use iGo as the time source, since that should be current anytime there is a connection to two or more GPS satellites.

I'm with everyone else here. I've tried every different combination I can think of and cannot get the correct time to show....
