im getting a nambu pistol from my grandad that he took off a dead jap in wwII i wanna know where i can get some mags an ammo.i saw mags on ebay for over 100 bucks not wanting to buy one at that price...

You got yourself a serious collectors item there, looks like $100 is about right for magazines (they're not clips). Ammo, 8mm is a bit uncommon so you probably won't find it at most stores. And you live in Commiefornia so most mail order places won't ship I don't think but try ammoengine.com anyhow.

Well also which nambu you have will determine ammo type being the first version shot the 8mm and the second shot 7mm. So was your grand dad in the war or someone earlier down the line passed it along?

thats funny i just watched the sons of guns where they find nambu pistol mags.. the guy got 2 for 800

Will on Sons of Gun just did a little on a 3 pistol set of them last week. I think that he had a guy go to Tn and he got a couple of mags for one or two of the pistols he had. I am not into pistols so I did not pay much attention to what it was. But you might catch it in reruns this week.

he was in WWII on the s.s.saratoga he pulled the pistol off a dead jap and a bayonet OUT of a dead jap

how can i determine whicch type is it?

Not 100% on this but the type A ,which is the first one, had a finger guard so small its hard to get your finger inside there, the type 14 had a bigger one that is oblong shaped, there are some other variants but you will have to do some research to be positive.

these prices reflect the rarity of some of the pistols, but can fetch a good amount if you had mags included

the nambu is a very dangerous pistol...it can go off by squeezeing the slide if i remember right...good luck finding ammo lol
