1988 hood trouble

i got a 1988 p'up cable release for hood doesn't work. anyone got any tips on how i can open the hood to change the cable? any advice would be helpful

Can you still get a hold of the actual wire that is pulled to release the hood. In the past I've had to get pliers and pull on the actual wire itself (not this vehicle thankfully). Now if the other end is broke...not sure.

Take the grille out.
