Do they mormally check tire blance when rotaining the tires?

Iys going to the dealer today, o guess ill see how much it is to switch the weights to the inside of the rims

That really doesn't matter. If they are not right you can reset the positions on your own in less than 5 min.

 

Why would you want the weights only on the inside of the wheel? To be properly balanced, you may need to have weights on both sides of the wheel.

As standard practice most tire shops put weights on the inside of the wheel if they are anything other than factory stock steel wheels. It simply looks better and is cosmetic. Usually they can balance them close enough using this method. If the tire is from somewhere that has bad quality control, then wheel weights on both sides may be needed to properly balance.

I totally agree, my 2001 Z28 (Sara), has high quality rims (Forgeline) all the way around, with high quality Michelin Pilot Sport Z rated tires. The balancing weights are glued to the inside of the rim, and I have had no problems whatsoever with an unbalanced wheel. I have been using this setup for 11.5 years, and at times exceeding the speed limit :) to tear up some road.

Yes i just wanted it done for looks, they wanted $60 so i passed on it for now tho
