99' Silverado Compass/Outside Temp Rear View

I purchased a 99' Silverado NBS. It appears to only have have a compass displayed on the rear view mirror. When I start the truck, all the lights on the mirror turn on and I can see an F and C (Fahrenheit - Celsius) and can display digits.

 

 

I have no idea how to make it display outside temp - am I doing something wrong?

For one thing you would need a temperature probe mounted outside for it to work as well as wiring.

Hey Pete,

 

The 99's come with a Compass only model. The Compass/Temp wasn't available until 00 in the trucks. You will need a Compass/Temp Mirror and also the Temp Sensor and Wiring. If you need more info check out the seller copperz71 on EBay as he is a large mirror/upgrade supplier.
