I just suggested the wet sand and buff in case they don't go for the repaint.....you're probably gonna have to fight pretty hard for a total repaint.....not that you're not entitled to it, but the dealer will look for other options. It sucks....you work hard for your money, buy something and keep it nice, and then something like this happens....hope you get the outcome you're looking for.

Talked to GM rep on the phone today before work.

He requested (for whatever reason) that I NOT post any pictures or name of dealership on any online forums of the damaged paint, don't know why that is. They are being helpful, didn't talk long was on my way out the door. Going to call him back tomorrow and see what's going on. He also said that he is aware I made the issue public on a forum, how they know that I don't know.

Service manager still claiming that he can't get in touch with me. GM rep. advised that every time they made an attempt they were able to contact my at the number given......I think they know the guy is a liar.

Will update after I talk to him again tomorrow.

Man, sucks to hear that. :nonod: Hopefully GM Customer Service will take care of you.

FWIW, it seems there is a disconnect between GM and dealerships. GM works hard to fix a problem, while dealerships rather not deal with it or don't care! seems like GM is going to fix the problem like they do with many of the people that we see posts like this from

Have to call rep. back tomorrow. They said dealer story doesn't make sense. They now claim that they actually forgot to wash my truck when it was in the wash bay so they did not cause the damage. WTF, they are nuts!

Yes GM has been great so far, dealer not so much.

ohh yea! "Your truck is all washed up and ready to go... Umm there weren't any DO NOT Wash signs... ohh must of been like that before we got it... we forgot to wash it"

this guy has no integrity... when this whole thing gets situated, make sure he knows that!

Spoke with Regional rep. again today. She stated that the service manager said he called me today and I told him not to worry about it, WTF!

This guy is crazy, still never called me one time since my first complaint to him while I was picking up my truck.

I explained to her that he is still lying and that he never contacted me and I never told him not to worry about it. She is going to call back again tomorrow and give me an update as to what went on with this service manager that makes stuff up. She said this is not the first time he has not told the truth to them and is aware of his "MO".

Really getting frustrated with this, my truck looks like garbage and this guy keeps telling stories. She did ask if I would be willing to go to that dealership to have it fixed, I told her I would rather not deal with this guy and don't feel comfortable going there and don't trust him since he has been lying since the beginning. (Really don't want him anywhere near me or my truck, ever.)

She is going to find out what's going on with him and call me again. Starting to feel like I am getting the run around here, this is really starting to get me po'd with this service manager. IMO, he needs to be fired!

I'll update again after I speak with the Regional rep. again.

Interesting you should mention this. That is the same stunt they pulled on me and my sister with her Cruze. One day it started leaking gas, I suspect at a coupling right below the drivers seat (at least that is where it appeared to be coming from). GM customer service was good, but they said the same line "the dealer said they weren't able to get in touch with you." Total balogna. My favorite part was when the service manager told me (at the suggestion that a tech drive it home and see if it will recreate the problem) "well, the problem is they don't want to be stuck by the side of the road." That almost made me throw the phone through the wall. When she brought it into the shop originally the service writer even told my sister that "it's stinking up the whole bay." Ultimately, after a week of pestering and getting nowhere, we took the car back. Hasn't leaked since. Now, question for you guys: Have you ever heard of a dealership fixing a problem that is scary like a gas leak and not wanting to tell the customer that it was repaired so as to prevent from causing a service campaign or recall?
