Removing Driver/Passenger Windows

Recommended Posts

Remove door panel, remove bolts from bottom sash where it attaches to regulator. Remove weatherstrip at top of door,

tilt outwards, comes right out. Don't forget Federal tint is 35%. Have a great one!

The door panels are pretty easy to take off. I have some pics sitting around somewhere if you need them, I think. Ryan probably has some pics or Mountaineer Tom might. Those guys are really good at providing information on various things and usually have great pics, too.

There are just 2 screws that hold the door in place along with a few clips or 90 degree plastic thingies. The main thing to remember is to pull up on the door panel, then toward you when pulling it off. Don't pull too far toward you because of the various speaker connections that you'll have to unclip and the courtesy light. The courtesy light just pops straight back...away from where it is housed. Basically, remove the little triangle plastic plate (connects at 3 points) that is where a wing window would have gone on an older vehicle. You can just pry that off with a screwdriver. Remove the plastic thing on the door lock ( the thing that has the red indicator for locked/unlocked). It just pops off, too. Remove the plastic cover that is surrounding the door handle ( pops off, too). Assuming you have power windows, remove the housing that has the window and lock control. It just pops out like the other stuff, but has connectors on it for the controls, obviously. The screws actually have a hex head on them if I remember correctly. Even though I did it yesterday, I slept last night and have forgotten what size they are. One is right behind the door handle ( not the one that actually holds the handle assembly on-it stays on the door), and the other is behind where the window control thing is, if I remember correctly. Man, it is #### getting old....

This is probably more than you wanted to know , or you've already and this is old news......
