Auto fold steps for GMT900?

Recommended Posts

Are there any companies out there that make the auto fold out steps / running boards that are a direct bolt in application for the GMT900 crew cab trucks? If so, does anyone have any installed and how do you like them? I'm looking for the ones that fold out when you open the door like on the F150 Platinum's. Thanks.

I've had them for about four months and love them. I was never a fan of the stationery running boards and I installed the AMP Research Powersteps after the leveling kit in the front and the 3" blocks in back. The extra height was causing me put more pressure on the edge of the drivers seat when entering and exiting and a crease was starting to form. The Powersteps are virtually invisible when not deployed and include LED lights for nighttime use.

I paid just over $1k for them and did the install myself in about two hours.

Does your sig picture have them on? Is that what it looks like with them foled up?

I would love power steps but after looking at the amp install video, IDK. The video I watched showed you drilling through the floor. So these amps are the factory oem ones? Wonder if they are dealer installed and they drill? My buddy has a 2009 Avalanche with factory power steps, I'll have to crawl around under his truck and check them out.

No, it's an older picture. I'll try to take one tomorrow and post it.

You have to drill a hole on one side to route the wires. The wires on the other side use an existing rubber grommet to get them in the cab. You need to use RTV sealant on both holes to seal them.
