My 1999 Silverado 5.3 has a problem at startup. It usually takes two cranks to start and runs rough. If I put it in gear it will die. I have to warm up for a good minute or so to keep it from killing it. Driving if fine but I do get a hesitation every now and then. Fuel economy hasn't seemed to drop.

I did an initial pressure test and have 50psi. Spec is 50-62. Turning off the key pressure drops within a minute to 48 and after about 5 min it's at 40. The slightly low pressure doesn't bother me.... I can test the regulator next and replace the pump or the regulator. Is the slight drop an issue?

Also going to the parts store for air and fuel filters plus due for plugs and wires.

Thanks all!

If spec is 55 and you only seeing 50 I would say the pump is getting weak. Small evap leak could be numerous things. Make sure the gas cap seal is clean and tight. If still comes back need to have it leak checked.
