2003 2500HD tail gate cap

Is this plastic cap glued on?......Is the glue a hassle to remove?

 

The tail gate cap throws the Leer canopy off by about 3/8 of an inch and I'm thinking about removing it...

my 2003 silverado's tailgate cap started coming off on its own. there are 4 holes under that cap that would look awful if the cap wasnt on.

 

GM put a differnt style tailgate cap on in 99-02 that were flat on top and i think in 05+ on the 1500's there were different caps that were flat on top so i think you could try and find one of them to put on

I bought my 05 and it was missing the cap. The holes are diamond shaped. I havent bought a replacement, I probably never will. I dont care about the holes (from 15 feet it looks fine lol).
