Can anyone confirm if the label on my memcal prom is the right stock prom for my 95 Tahoe 4X4 5.7L? I don't know if this is a stock number or a modified prom.

The label on my prom looks like this:

5158

1617

4895

limp home board has a part number 1265153

stamped on the memcal cover is BJYL 0099.

VIN # is 3GNEK18K3SG107271

Gear ratio GT4 G80 3:73

Any help greatly appreciated.

thnx,

I thought I might have heard something by now by a seasoned GM tech. Maybe this OBD1 stuff is too old school.

Has anyone upgraded or replaced a memcal prom as part of a GM service routine? If so, what kind of labelling do you put on the prom?

Wow, one whole week and not one reply. I'm a bit disappointed, as I had expected experienced GM techs to have been all over this. Not even a yes or no. Not even a "you suck" or "take a hike". Must have been a tough question.

Maybe one of the techs can answer this one:

When I move the stick that is connected to the right side of my steering column clockwise, it moves a little red needle on my instrument panel to the right. If I start the engine, release the emergency brake, and the little red needle is pointing at the "D" on my instrument panel, can one of the GM techs tell me which way I can expect my truck to roll?

You suck and go take a hike.

Probably best to go to a dealer and have them look up the info

Being a smart ass with your question won't help you.

If you haven't totally given up on us try moates.net or thirdgen.org

Datamasters.com or tunerpro.net are what I use for datalogging & troubleshooting my '95 burb.BTW my prom(.bin files actually) is BMHM,ECM is 16197427.Tunerpro has a pretty good forum.lots of info there(go to their site, click on community).

You're welcome, and good luck with your quest  Even though by today's technology standards OBDI systems may be dinosaurs they can still be modified to improve performance.
