Rear View Mirror Temperature Indicator

Weather has be extremely hot here in Ct lately and prior to this heat the temperature on the rear view mirror was 'reasonably' displaying the outside temperature, which has been in the upper 80's to mid 90's. Now for some reason, the rear view mirror temperature indicator has been showing the temperature in the high 20's to mid 30's. This is fahrenheit temperature, not celsius. Now i know i'm not running around with a bag of ice on the sensor because i don't know where the sensor is.

Anyone have a clue why?

Also, exactly where is the sensor on my 01 sierra, so I can maybe clean it or replace it? Can't see having a feature on my truck that is inoperable.

I'm sure you've checked, but is there a small 'c' next to the temperature ?

Readings in the high 20's & mid 30's translates to about the same as readings in the high 80's to mid 90's F, but in celcius......

Double check your settings.....

Just saying....

if is not a settings problem, remove the front grille and the sensor is locate right in the center attached to a metal bar
