Front caliper conversion 2001 silverado

I couldnt find the posts on the conversion, can someone tell what all is involved for a 2001 Silverado. I couldnt find the thread, but I am guessing you can take the larger calipers and rotors from the newer GM trucks and retro them onto the older trucks.

 

I already have the stock 17" factory wheel on my truck if that matters.

 

Also is it possible to put the newer 2005 tail lights in the bed of a 2001 silverado. Wife busted one of my stockers out, got some aftermarket replacements and they suck and was thinking of using the newer style taillights instead.

The lights are fine. 03+ light bolt up they just have an extra small bulb on the side that you won't utilize. As far as brakes I am curious as well. I found a larger brake kit for 06 but not 04

I would like to know about the brakes also. I was just saying something to dad the other day about putting the newer bigger brakes on his 99, and wondered what all would have to be done.
