05 silverado 1500 flex fuel between tank and engine?

Just under the truck,driver side, the fuel lines go from the tank to a box on the crossmember that has a wire conne ctor on it and the fuel line in and out? what is this and is there a wiring diagrahm for it?

Sounds like the EVAP canister.

 

I won't get into how it should be tossed in the trash ..... (useless emission crap).

Well that sensor has to be what detects alcohol percentage in the fuel. So when the truck breaks down, the tech can tell whether your running E85, straight gasoline, or just filled up with gas with a 1/4 tank of E85 ... or any combination of that scenario.

 

They had a flex version in '05? Learn something new every day ...

thats it !!!!! is there a wiring diagrahm of this in operation. I am getting no fuel to the tail but hear the pump running.

I think GM started putting flex fuel option in full size trucks around 2003 IIRC.

Your (model year) would be the first year that GM put the yellow gas cap on (consistantly). Mine is flex but came with a black cap, however others had a yellow cap from factory, talk about confusing when you talk to the parts guy at an auto parts store...

Yeah GM's good for that stuff. Harley-Davidson is too. 4 + changes to one part in one model year ...

 

Nothing like waiting a week for a much needed part you ordered online .... then you cut the box open, and it's not even close to what you need ..

Depdon are you getting a check engine light? Usually when you have a problem with those sensors it will set a code. We call those sensors fuel compensators. They sense the percentage of alcohol in the fuel. And send that info to the computer. And the computer make adjustments to the system to compensate for that mixture. You said that you weren't getting fuel to the "Tail". I assume that you meant Rail. Also just because the fuel pump runs doesn't mean that you have pressure or volume.
