Just bought a 95 Jimmy...

Anyone know if it has a timing chain or a timing belt? I believe its a chain but my husband thinks its a belt.

If you could tell us which engine, it would be easier to find out for sure.

The v6 has a timing chain and it is not a overhead cam, so you should not need to service it unless you open the engine up for another reason.

 

was the inline 4 even offered in the jimmy and blazer second generation truck? I thought is was just in the S-10 and Sanoma trucks.

According to the info on wiki the i4 was only offered in indonesia from 95 to its end of life in 05 all the US marketed suvs were v6.
