I dunno if this will intrest anyone here, but i got my 2002 Corvette press kit yesterday from GM. It has about all the info you would want. I figured if anyone had any questions i could look in the kit and tell you what it was. So if anyone has anything they'd like to know, post it here.

BTW: I'm getting the 2002 truck/suv kits in the next few weeks. Their embargoed so far.

Yeah, when am I gonna break down and finally buy myself one??

(hint: not any time soon)

Jeff

LOL. Why not Jeff? I'm sure you have 50k just laying around!

Seriously, having the luxoury to drive a C5 a good deal, i think they are great cars.

Paying for the C5 isn't really the problem, it's paying for the comparable my wife will demand if I buy one for myself...

She's been driving her Nissan for 8 years, meanwhile I've had a new Saturn, two new GMC full-size X-cabs, my Corvette, and now my Suburban, which is the cheapest vehicle I've had since high-school.

She's already made it clear that she gets the next new one...she wants an Audi TT...or a Maxima...or a BMW 5 series...

oh well...

They still have the two. The LS1 for the Coupe and Convertable, that's rated at 350hp.

Then the LS6 for the Hardtop(Z06), rated at 405hp! :o

Unfortunately, Chevrolet usually doesn't publish performance info like that...they loan the cars out to mags like Car & Driver and let them go out on their professional tracks with their professional drivers and publish the results...It seems to be more effective if a third party determines that stuff, GM could be bit more optimistic on the numbers, not that they would do that, right?

BUT, Zane is the one with the info, maybe it does have those specs....

Au Contrare! Gm does have its own published track times for the Z06.

0-60=3.9sec

1/4=12.4@116

405hp@6,000rpm

400ft-lbs@4,800rpm

When i look at the hp and tourqe curves, the increase in power is all abover 4000rpm. Up till that, the lines are matching.

Yep Mervz, Jim agrees. And now I'm gonna have the best of both worlds. A C5 and an Avalanche. Matching Pewter beasties all nestled in the garage.

Will it be able to keep up with, or pass, the Viper?

Does it (will it) still have that sweet ass exhaust note?

WILL IT STILL PICK-UP CHICKS ON THE CORNER?
