Well, I finally did the new Alternator and Big 3 upgrade. Took quite a bit of time and a little vodka. $700 later......

I was thinking a capacitor also, and ive seen 200 and 250 amp alternators on ebay for our trucks..

And i would look into the kinetic battery,s

Its made by DC Power Engineering. The model is the 300 SPX. 300 amp. Puts out 220 at idle.

 

I've been told the EBay alternators are just 145's with a pulley swap. I went with a solid one after calling around. i got the top model but they make 220, 260, and the 300 which I have

Thats nice..A real 300 amp, so after everything you did..especially the upgraded wiring,does the truck start faster?

I have considered dual batteries. That is on list if I upgrade the stereo even farther. I only drove it once to pick my brother up from school, and I had to hurry because it took so long to get it in. I didn't pay attention to the start speed because of my rush. The drive was maybe 1.5 miles round trip

Im getting ready to upgrade/repair my stereo to, i have 2 12,s now under the rear seat w/ a 1000 W amp for them.. and stock radio and speakers

so id like to do a decent head unit with some good interior speakers.. Have you heard any good or bad about that app radio, seems nice with a big touch screen,

But i definitly want to upgrade the wiring, and do dual kinetic or red top batteries, I have a newer 145 amp alternator..but am thinking that 300 would be good especially if i do the plow.

 

What were the big 3 you were mentioning?

Your truck looks like its asking for a 2" cowl hood, and a 6 or 8" tint visor on the inside of the windsheild..

I'm debating a denali conversion in the future. But no extra money at the moment.

No App radio for me, only a 5 band equalizer and 2 RCA preouts (front and rear). Since it's a 5 band vs my 8 and 2 preouts to my 3, I'm staying with what I have. I like a separate sub channel

Battery + to alternator (1), Battery - to Frame (2), and Engine block to Frame (3). I used 1/0 AWG wire because my amp power feed was already 4 AWG
