What a game!!!  Obviously I was pulling for Pgh.  But congrats to the Tennesee fans.

All I can say is F*** You CBS for not giving my team an extra days rest.  I think it was a bad call giving the AFC teams a short week because in their opinion (CBS) these games would not bring the ratings of the Sunday games.  I doubt there will be a better game played this weekend than this one...  (of course there is still 3 games to go as of this post).

I do want to say Congrats, to the Pittsburgh Steelers!!!  It's been a great season!!!  What a fun game to watch and lets enjoy the off season...   :smash:

great game

Worst call was the helmet to helmet call they made against tennessee when the guy actually used his shoulder. ITS FOOTBALL ITS A VIOLENT GAME they arent cheerleaders.  if you cant take the hit get off the field

Congrats to Tenn.

I was pulling for Pitt, ONLY b/c I figured if Oakland wins tomorrow it would be easier to take advantage of Pitt's poor secondary.

I do however disagree with the comments of the short week.  First I saw MANY Steelers players say before the game that was no excuse, and second if the Jets and Oakland played today the Jets had to leave Thursday b/c they were ging across country.  Giving them only 3 days to prepare b/c they didn't know who they were playing until Monday.  Pittsburgh on the other hand did not have to leave until Friday to go to Tennessee and they had four days to prepare for the Titans, they would've only gotten one more day than that to prepare by playing Saturday and placing the Jets in a much more precarious position.

I feel or them, but like many many Pitt players said, the short week is no excuse.

With that said I have only one thing left to say......

GO RAIDERS!!!!!  :smash:

Elwood,  Keep in mind about the short week that the Jets  played last Saturday therefore it would be a wash for days off if the games were switched...  Both teams would have 7 days off...  However CBS felt the Jets game would be a better Sunday game and gave them the long week.  The Steelers got the crap beat out of them against Cleveland last week (Sunday) and they managed to come away with the win...  an extra days rest could have made the difference, but I guess it doesn't really matter now...

All I know was it was a darn good football game, and the beat up Steelers tried hard against a fresh Tenn. team...  Unfortunatly the Titans got the snot banged out of them today, and they will have to play the winner of the Oakland game.... ( which by the way will have the short week and possibly the travel time...)  #### CBS and network TV!!!

The bottom line is that Pgh lost to a darn good Tenn. team...  there are no questions about that!!!   I loved the game....

At least Pgh covered the spread....  so they weren't the only ones to lose!!!  :smash:

THANKS FOR THE WIN--BUT I AM A TITAN FAN  BEEING THAT I LIVE HERE IN TN----BUT it could have been a better  win--too much crap going on all game long--on the other hand--we might get our just deserts next game--my 2 cents  :smash:      :thumb:  :thumb:

I was kind of disappointed with Bill Cowher's act there at the end of the game when he ran across the field to jaw at the ref before running off the field.I don't know what his gripe is because there were a few calls that went his way in that game.

Honestly I can't stand the Titans.I've always been a Cowboy's fan but would follow the Oilers when they were in Houston but what Bud Adams did to this city was just wrong.I couldn't care less if they win 20 consecutive Super Bowls after he is gone but I don't ever want to see that jackass with a Bowl ring after how he did the fans here.

I'm not alking about days off only, I'm talking about days to plan AND to travel.  I saw it on ESPN that the Jets would have to leave two days before the game, but Pitt only the day before, therefore the Jets did not really gain all that much.  I was a bit shocked that Pitt had to play Saturday too, but after hearing this I wasn't.  The way it worked out the Steelers and Jets both got 4 days to plan.  And they have no real gripe about not getting rest, because if they needed more rest they should have done better in the reg. season and earned a bye week.  They played a weaker schedule than Oakland and Oakland got the number 1 seed. They got beat because they got beat, NOT because they had a short week.  This is not only my opinion, but the opinion of many Pittsburgh playrs who I have watched interviews withand read online.

As for a short week for tomorrow's winner, that can't happen.  They play both games next week on Sunday, which will be a normal week for whoever wins.  Tenessee just gets a long week.  The winner of Oak and NY will play on Sunday and then the next Sunday, that is normal.

As for the comments on Cowher.  I totally agree, he ticks me off.  He seems to always have something else to blame things on other than just that they got outplayed.  I don't about alot of calls going for PItt right off, but I do know of one in particular tht did.  TheTitans got robbed on the punt return that was overturned.  The angle from behind the returner showed his knee never touched and the others never showed anything conclusive either way.

Frank,  I think Cowher was Bitchin about the ref...  it was probably wrong.  He was trying to call timeout again befoer the third kick and wasn't seen...  (his fault 'cause he waited to long), and I think he was still a little miffed about the roughing the kicker call.  He is a very emotional coach, and has brought alot of "fire" to this Pgh team....

Unfortunatly I'm guessing Mike Mularky ( off Coord.) will be the new head coach for Cincy next year...

Elwood, As far as a short week dahdedah, I got my info from the Pgh news...   And yeah!!!  I sure as he!!  would think they are biased...  and yes I think they got the  short week because of the ratings because of the CBS execs and their rating theory!!

I'm not going to argue with you about schedules and who played who...  and who beat who...  because there are alot of crappy teams that won games in the last few weeks.

The bottom line is that the Titans won and I hope that we (the Steelers) didn't beat them up too much.  Because I want them to beat the Raiders because I think they will be their next oponents.

I'm done posting in this thread....

Congrats Titans and I wish you the best of luck on the road to the SuperBowl!!!

I think they did say Cowher was griping about not getting the time out, but that's not the only time I'm talking about.  Personally if I was him I would've been b**chin' out the guy who hit the kicker and the uy who didn't call timeout after that until the snap was made.

As for the ratings theory, I'm not saying that wasn't the REASON why it happened, I'm just saying that had it gone the other way the Jets would have been more screwed than the Steelers (which BTW would have been fine with this Raiders fan  :smash: )

As for the schedules, I'm going by the teams they plaed who made the playoffs, and the teams the played that finished .500 or above and did not make the playoffs.  (Raiders only played 3 teams that finished with losing records, and they were NFC teams, and they played 4 teams who won their respective division, only losing to one of them the 49ers.  Pittsburgh played 7 games against teams with losing records and went 3-3-1 vs playoff teams, and 2 of those wins were the Browns.)

Sorry if my posts on this subject ticked you off Shaners, that wasn't the purpose, however I get the feeling that maybe they did.  I didn't mean to tick you off, but I just have a slightly differing opinion on the subject and slightly different information than you have as my source.

Anyway while we're on the subject of football,I'm really looking foward to the Raider's/Jet's game today.Possibly the hottest team in the league going against the team with the best record. This should make for an awesome game.

Oh and sorry Elwood.I'll be going for the guys in green. :smash:

It's OK...  The Steelers are the ones that made me mad.  Anytime you are in the + side on takeaways you should theoretically win the game and they couldn't do that.

As for the short week, I don't ever recall the Steelers complaining about short weeks when they played on Monday night, so it's just a cheap excuse.  I think they were just saying that because they were really banged up by the Browns and they would have loved to have an extra day off...

I'm a huge Steelers fan. But I blame most of the loss on the Pitt. Defense. The game should'nt have come down to a single call or play if they'd have done a better job. The secondary has (had) a really tough time stoping the pass. And geeeeeeezzzz! Who did'nt know that the last pass was going to be to the side lines to make for a shorter kick, and they still did'nt stop it!   Also:

I'm not only saying this because of this game, but I wish the NFL would go the route of College Football and let both teams have a chance to score in O.T. I don't like to see a good game or the downfall of a good team come down to a freakin' coin toss.

Oh well. Hats off to the Titans.

And sorry Elwood, as great as I think Gannon is, I want to see the Raiders GO DOWN!!!  :smash:

I watched the game and I have to give it up to the Titans .

I had the Steelers picked to go all the way in our poll at work  :smash:
