Truck info is in sig. But I want a turbo kit from KB(stage2) However my truck has the DOD and was thinking of deleting that first. And when I am in there do cam/springs,rockers. Maybe heads?!?

 

Didn't know if I would be better off just buying a 6.0 or 6.2 motor and swapping out? <--don't even know what that would take other than the engine and ecm?

 

Was going to upgrade trans this month with Shift kit(hd2), billet servos(all), 40k trans cooler. But now thinking built trans is better?!?

 

Only looking for around 500hp. I know I need tune,pump,and injectors. And Stall 3200.

 

Also money doesn't matter but it has to make sense and be a bang for buck. Not trying to spend big or buy cheap shit.

You can buy the DOD free L9H 6.2 from crateenginedepot.com. they are like gmpartsdirect.com without inflated shipping. Then supercharge that. You can get away with just having the ecm reflashed for the 6.2

how about 4:56 rear with a posi, and a set of stainless works long tubes..

Procharger makes some nice kits with 45-55% HP gains,..`

Do not like superchargers. Had a procharger on another project. And twins on a camaro and nitrous on a different camaro. I am a N/A or Turbo guy. I am ok with the top mount new style chargers. However the cost per dollar seems low and the pulleys! they are like 5-6k then longtubes. with turbo kits are $3200 and boost controler rather than pulleys and belts.

 

I am still very interested in ideas here! Please keep them coming. However I ordered 2 motors just in case I go N/A for now. And turbo when weather is warmer. What can I say, I'm super impulsive. :thumbs:

I like how Chris thinks. As for the pulleys, someone told me that you can get custom made to order billet pulleys in any size you want for $55.00 at smoothflowpulleys.com, I may do that someday, but for now I'll stay under warranty. That gives you the option of changing pulleys/boost in a matter of minutes. I don't currently, and haven't ever, owned a turbocharged vehicle so I cannot tell you the differences other than slight turbo lag. My brother owned two grand nationals, and they were bad ass. The knock on superchargers used to be parasitic loss, but anymore that is minimal.

Bottom line is build what you want and drive it like you stole it.

What's your budget roughly

 

Like to spend around 5-7K. Like motor one month trans next then turbo. I have a tuner friend and other friend owns a large auto shop. So free labor/tools.However I don't know all the what fits what things.

 

So will a C6 vette 6.0 fit? He has many and some 6.0 tbss motors. Hope it works. As the newer motors are a little harder to find. Thanks

I can buy a KB kit for $3,150.00 (minus turbo is -$800) an I would buy non inter cooled and scrap the turbo for a precision turbo and fab a front mount intercooler. Rather then all the bends. Was told $1800 for hot pipes. Cost on the better turbo is $1000.00 I have bends. and intercooler no more than 400. I understand needs injectors. But tun is free for me.

 

Good friends and I have built race cars.In fact twin turbo superstreet/outlaw. So fab and discounts on parts we can come by! But the engine swap info itself NO. anyone help here please?

 

Need to know with a C6 6.0L LS2 drop into a NBS silverado with the 4l60E? Thank you.

Ok so just found Summit sells reluctor that are 58 to convert the old 24 tooth over. However I am reading the flywheel could be different as there are 6bolt,8bolt,9bolt. But I can just buy a flywheel right?

 

Hope this is all want to pick motor up tomorrow.
