2004 Yukon XL Denali Radio Wiring Diagram/ Theft Damage

Recommended Posts

Hello folks,

The factor radio was stolen out of my Yukon over the weekend; the thief pulled it out of the dash and cut off the harnesses. Don't know much about radios and stereo systems but I am trying to take care of this issue myself once I was quoted $1300 today, just to replace the center console harness. I believe I can save a lot of money by getting an after-market non-OEM radio but I need help identifying the wires for the install.

Also, can I use the factory amp and the rear seat controls with the aftermarket radio?

I appreciate any help or suggestions you may have. Thank you very much in advance

Every truck ive had came with the bose stereo, And ive gone with aftermarket head unit and speakers... I would say go to a local stereo shop that fair with prices and you should be able to go with a nice pioneer,kenwood,etc.. radio.. And should be well under your qouted price! 2-300 for the radio.. And 200 or so for labor.

I don't have a wiring diagram for you but I can tell you that the rear seat entertainment will not work with a aftermarket radio. One of the reasons I didn't replace mine with aftermarket in my truck, that and I have the DVD player.

There are three different levels of schematic available for the radio/amp combo. You need to check the RPO sticker in the glove box to determine what you have.

Here's what there is to choose from:

Base radio: UQ3 or UQ5

Amp: UQ7 w/o Y91

Lux Amp: UQ7 w/Y91

If you can post the codes you have on your truck, we can come up with the schematic.

I do have UQ7 and Y91 listed on the plate in the glove compartment. Is this is what you are looking for?

Thank you very much.

There are a LOT of wires that you may need to identify. Click here for the schematic and good luck...
