2002 Vortec Hard Starting

I have a 2002 Vortec 5.7 in my Express 3500 van.

 

It has become very hard to start lately.

If I spray starting fluid in the air filter opening it cranks up fine,

and will crank fine the rest of the day.

The next day I have to spray it again to get it to start.

 

I have checked the fuel pressure (engine off) and it is 52 psi.

(it holds the pressure when the key has been turned off)

(once the engine starts, if I check again the pressure goes up to 60 psi)

I have changed the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter.

Everything looks clean, but the engine refuses to start normally.

Sounds like the fuel pump is weak. Should see 60-66 psi key on engine off.
