Does this apply to the Bose system too? My '12 Sierra does it, but it seems to vary in pitch with the throttle, or get higher pitch as engine rpm increases. Maybe not the same issue but definitely a noticeable whine.

 

This TSB applies to the radio head units with RPO codes "US8 & UUI", at least for now.

 

I know this excludes the multi-CD disc & NAV radio head units for now...

You likely have a ground loop issue. Used to get the same noise in my CB I had installed on past trucks. Not the same issue, the cooling fan noise would be fairly consistent.

Thanks, I agree, it doesn't sound like fan noise. More like a high frequency interference. I only hear it at very low speeds when there's no wind noise and when the radio volume is low. Not a big deal I guess, I can live with it.

I just got a 2013 GMC Sierra sle last week. Totally heard this sound.

 

I gave my purchasing dealer ( Allen Cadillac GMC in Laguna Niguel, CA ) a call and spoke with the Service Dept manager. Also sent him an email. He looked at PIT5166C

 

I'll be bringing it in tomorrow, getting a free loaner, and should get it handled. I'm highly intiutive/sensitive, so i'll let ya all know if this new replacement radio handles the ISSUE.

 

Otherwise will be getting an Alpine IVE w530 for $550 with pac-audio.com C2R-GM29 module for $129 plus labor. I don't wanna have to do this.

Hi Yes, the sound is NO More! And nowww i'm like SOOO impressed with this truck! total luxury. i had test drove a few Lexus Ls s, and when i'm drivng this, i feel just as plush, comfortable and just fantastic.

 

And the difference between the loaner car's engine and this truck's power, is something. the 5.3L is excellent

 

I still have yet to experience how bad it's gonna hurt at the pump. That's the ONLY thing i can think of now.
