Tie Rods - replace inners and outers together?

Put $800 bucks in new tires on the Suburban today and they told me that the inner tie rods are lose so they can't do an alignment. Should I go ahead and replace the outers while I'm at or is that just throwing money down the drain?

They didn't say anything about ball joints. Just the inner tie rods. I guess I always assumed that they checked all the steering related components because they can't get the alignment within spec if anything is worn out.

Thanks for the replies.

and ooh, did they check your wheel bearings too? if not already, - ask them

normally those items are fall a part at once - so replace them now (worry free driving) :D

I'm with everyone else. I would replace them all now. That way everything is new and your good to go for a while.
