BFG All Terrains

The 18" BFGs are 10 ply right? How do they ride on a 1/2 ton? I've always run BFGs and think they are great, but not sure about the 10 ply.

They will never ride like a passenger tire, but they ride pretty well if you run about 38-40 psi when empty.

If my calculations are correct the 275/70/18's are slightly taller than the 285/65/18? Side wall of 7.57" vs 7.29". And about $90 per tire

Now I'm tore between BFG AT or Goodyear Duratrac

I've been running 10ply tires for years now on various 1/2 tons and never had any issues. The ride is stiffer than stock tires for sure but I would rather have the peace of mind when I am in rugged terrain.

One of my local Discount Tires has the Duratracs in stock. Getting them installed now (275/70r18). They don't have white lettering for some reason though (I know it's a debated personal preference but I happen to like the look of white letters out ESP on a white truck). I always figured they have them and you just pick if you want them in or out. How do you tell the difference? Oh well I guess. Can't wait for them to get done, ill post pictures tonight.
