Interesting perspective, especially looking back over that many years. My approach is pretty similar now—I'd rather keep a reliable vehicle longer than chase a new one every few years. Depreciation hits hardest at the beginning, so if the vehicle is dependable and still meets your needs, it's usually the cheaper option. I also try to avoid rolling negative equity into the next loan. It can make upgrading feel easier in the short term, but it often means paying for a vehicle you no longer own. If financing makes sense because of a genuinely low interest rate, that's one thing, but otherwise I'd rather put money toward maintenance and drive the current vehicle longer. It tends to work out better financially over time. -

No key on power = no DTCs. I'd pull the underhood fuse box as these are known to get nasty with corrosion. See how things look there. I'd suspect internal damage as well to it. -
Friend was telling me ordered a 2025 Yukon Denali. Was waiting for it to arrive (was told built and in transit) and it was not showing up. So one day he goes down to the dealer and as he drives through the lot he spots this Black Yukon Denali sitting outside of body shop area in primer, masking tape and paper. They are repainting the top parts, hood and roof. So he moseys over to a worker and asked, what happened here? Guy says, brake leaked on it in transit. He walked away from buying it because they never intended for him to know that. -
